LHS Families -- Thank you for helping our students get off to a great start this fall! We appreciate your efforts to reinforce the need to keep cell phones put away during class time and for your encouragement for them to wear their student ID lanyard each and every day.
We have seen more face to face conversations with students and more positive interactions in school. I love seeing them without their phones in hand every moment. It is a healthy habit to cultivate - individuals need to control the media and technology they use, not the other way around. Thank you for reiterating this to them at home and often.
Our student leadership is working diligently to Restore the Roar at LHS, and we appreciate their enthusiasm and involvement. Please take time to attend one of the many activities or athletic events we hold each week to watch these young people work to be their best.

The La Grande School District will be closed for Labor Day on Monday, September 5th. Have a wonderful long weekend!
Sports Fans, on Thursday, September 1st, we will have JV Girls Soccer playing at LMS at 4 p.m. against Irrigon. We will have JV Football playing at EOU at 4 p.m. against Weiser (ID), followed by Boys Varsity Soccer at approximately 6 p.m. against Irrigon. PLEASE NOTE: EOU's main gate is currently under construction. All participants and fans will need to enter through the gate on G ave, at the North end of the stadium. There will be admissions at EOU during Football and Soccer.

LHS families - we are eager to see our 10th, 11th, and 12th grade students tomorrow for their first day of school! Our freshmen had a great day with games, food, music and support today, and we look forward to having our hallways full again with all students.
Important reminders - doors open at 7:45, and breakfast is available at that time for those who choose to eat. Classes start at 8:20. Backpacks are not allowed in classrooms, so students will need to plan for locker use throughout the day. Cell phones are not allowed during instructional time, which means the only time student may use a cell phone is during passing times, lunch, and before and after school.
LHS parents, please remember that we start with all freshmen and new students on Monday August 29th. All freshmen and new students should report to LHS at the main auditorium and gym entrance at 8:10 AM.
All students grades 9 through 12 will begin classes on Tuesday morning August 30th at 8:10 AM. Beginning on Tuesday all students will enter at LHS' main entrance with the flagpole.
We look forward to seeing our students again and are very excited for this new year with our Tigers.

The first day of school for students in grades kindergarten through 7th grade, as well as 9th grade students will be Monday, August 29, 2022. Students in grades 8, 10, 11 and 12 will begin on Tuesday, August 30, 2022.
Reminder for Student Athletes: In order to compete in games, your fees MUST be paid. Please contact the office if you have any questions or concerns.
