Welcome back to school! I hope everyone had an amazing summer! I wanted to let everyone know that the Taste of the Tiger Coffee Shop, located in the J House and run by LHS students, will be back open this year. We are excited to share our brand new coffee shop with our La Grande staff family and we offer about anything that our local coffee shops offer, including mochas, chai, slushies, soft serve, smoothies and much more. Our hours are:
Mornings:
Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday- 7:00am-8:15am
Lunch Time:
Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday- 11:50am-12:20pm
Wednesday- 12:15pm-12:45pm
All proceeds from the Taste of the Tiger go to help support the SPED program. If you need your morning caffeine or an afternoon pick me up, swing on in! One thing to note is we cannot accept cards for purchases under $5.00. We will send out an updated menu soon and we look forward to seeing you!

LHS Volleyball will host Imbler HS tomorrow starting at 3:30 for JV2, 4:30 for JV and 6:00 for Varsity. Spectators are required to wear masks and social distance in the gymnasium.

Welcome back, Tigers! Our first day is right around the corner, and we are excited to have you back in the halls and classrooms of LHS. Here's some important information for our first days back.
The front doors open at 8:10am for those eating breakfast. (Please drop off your students according to these times.)
Classroom doors open at 8:10am.
Classes begin at 8:20am.
Dismissal is at 3:10pm daily.
Buses load at 3:15pm.
Monday 8/30 is for Freshmen and new students only.
Tuesday 8/31 is for ALL students.
Wednesdays will be our late start days this year, which moves our start time to 9:20am.

This is a friendly reminder that all LHS athletes need to register online in order to be eligible to play sports. Please follow the instructions below
La Grande High School registration is next week. All returning students should have received registration packets in the mail. Those packets need to be completed and brought with you to registration.
Seniors and Juniors registration day is Monday, August 23rd.
Sophomores and Freshman registration day is Tuesday, August 24th.
Registration will take place from 8 am - 11 am and 12:30 pm - 3 pm on both days.

Grande Ronde Hospital and Clinics (GRH) will host a virtual
public Town Hall on Wednesday, August 18, 2021 from 6 PM to 7 PM to address critical
concerns of hospital capacity. The Town Hall will be live streamed at www.EOalive.TV, www.fb.com/eoalivetv and www.fb.com/grh01. There will be an opportunity for the public to ask questions at the end.
School pictures will take place during registration August 23 & August 24. Picture packets are available at the high school during registration. Pictures can be paid for at the time of registration or ordered online. Payment needs to go to Lifetouch, not LHS.
If your student is planning on participating in LHS athletics they must register online. Please refer to the instructions below. OSAA sanctioned practices start on Monday, August 16. All students need to have a current OSAA physical on file at the high school. If you have questions, please call the main LHS office at 541-663-3301.
This school year, the La Grande School District will to continue to provide Grab N Go meals at Island City Elementary and Central Elementary from 12:00-12:30 each school day. There will be both breakfast and lunch provided in each bag. Meals are free for children 0-18 years of age. Also, all students attending school this year will receive both breakfast and lunch free of charge. They will need to enter their ID Number just as they have in the past, but the meal is free.
Photo Restoration:
The Graduation Photo Restoration members and La Grande High School are currently involved in a project to update the Senior Class photos which were displayed at the high school. These photos have been taken down due to their poor condition. The project will entail new frames and glass to help preserve LHS history which goes back as far as the graduation class of 1912. Our goal is to have the class photos restored and rehung in the Common Area of the high school so that students and visitors are able to view these photographs of past LHS graduates.
In order to help with funding this project, there is a large quantity of Mimirs dating back 50+ years. The Graduation Photo Restoration members and LHS are selling them at $25.00 as piece while any extras remain. Keep in mind we do keep some of them here to preserve the history of LHS, but we do not need 30 additional copies. Fifty percent of the proceeds will go towards are efforts to preserve these photographs, while the additional fifty percent will go to the LHS Desktop Publishing Class who is responsible for each Yearbook/Mimir.

These packets need to be completed and accompany the student on registration day. Payments will be taken at this time also. Students will receive their class schedules and have their Student ID picture taken at this time.
